AC Installation and Replacement

AC Installation

Sized to the house and the ductwork already in it, not to whatever's on the truck. New systems now run up to 60 percent more efficient than equipment built ten years ago.

Why we walk the house before we quote it

A new system's price depends on the size of the building, the ductwork already in place, and whatever gets added to it, such as a smart thermostat or an air cleaner. None of that shows up in a phone call, so we don't quote installations over the phone. An on-site evaluation gives you the exact price for your house before anything gets ordered, and it accounts for the two things a generic quote never can: how big the space actually is and what the existing ductwork can already handle.

What the install actually involves

Ductwork gets designed and installed to supply and exhaust the right volume of air to every room, not just the ones closest to the unit. Every component gets connected with tight seals so nothing leaks out before it reaches a vent. The thermostat gets calibrated to hold the temperature without the system fighting itself, and a full inspection happens before we call the job finished. We also install ductless systems where running new ductwork isn't practical.

Three residential condensing units installed beside a house

Sized to the house, not the box

A system that's too big for the house cools it fast and shuts off before it pulls the humidity out of the air, which is how a house ends up cold and still clammy. One that's too small runs constantly and never quite catches up. Getting the size right depends on the square footage, the insulation, the windows and the ductwork already in the attic, which is exactly what an on-site evaluation is for. Correctly sized equipment, installed with sealed ductwork and a calibrated thermostat, is what gets a system to roughly fifteen years on the cooling side, with regular maintenance along the way.

Installation questions

It depends on the size of the building, the condition of the existing ductwork, and any extras such as a smart thermostat or an air cleaner. We evaluate the house on site and give you the exact price before ordering anything, never a number over the phone.

It depends on the scope of the job, particularly whether new ductwork needs to be designed and installed alongside the equipment. We'll walk you through the schedule for your specific job during the on-site evaluation.

No. An oversized system cools the air quickly without running long enough to pull the humidity out of it, which leaves a house feeling cold and damp at the same time. We size the equipment to the building, not to the largest unit on the truck.

Yes. Ductless air conditioning is a versatile, energy-efficient option for cooling a room or an addition where running new ductwork isn't practical.
